The Inner Scream

The Inner Scream, underpinned by Clare Flint's investigations into Dante's The Divine Comedy, is her largest painting to date. Her methodology was to read the epic poem alongside completing many pencil studies and smaller paintings before beginning the massive triptych. This digitised image reveals the overpowering scale of the painting - the artist is standing in the right hand corner of the image to show how the panels should be displayed, one above the other, to depict a narrative that links hell, purgatory and paradise in a contemporary context.
